PUNTERS FANTASY CYCLING LEAGUE

PFCL3
This has been a great season for PFCL. My first season as host and the 3rd season in total. It has been fun from start to finish for me. I especially enjoyed the opening drafts and the banter during the whole season. There were a couple of surprises as last years winner; @cyclingmole just managed to stay out of the last seat in the league table by 1 point. The league table remained surprisingly long exciting and @BearTowell only managed to secure the victory in #matchup48. The rest of the podium only to be decide in the final #matchup50. In the end the following teams have earned their share of the prize pool;
I've also gotten a couple of questions about the cyclists and what the best pick would have been. In this link to an Excel you'll find all the scores from the cyclist and you can also see in what part of the season the cyclist has scored to the most points. To give you a couple of examples;
So it was not just a matter of getting as many points possible, but also spread out over many matchups in order to get lost of won fixtures. Having said that, there is still the matter of luck as I've seen a couple of occasions where @gizzatips was in the top 5 of points scorers in the matchup, but with bad luck to be in a fixture with somebody who scored a couple of points more than him. That might just be the beauty of this setup. It is not just who has the best cyclist of the UCI ranking, but also who has the best mix of riders to score enough points to win matchups throughout the season. If asked for some feedback about the current setup and possible improvements here It has been my pleasure to run the PFCL and hope to see you all participating in PFCL4!

Well, that was a great season 3 of PFCL. My first as a host and first as a participant as well. Lots of things I've enjoyed about #PFCL3 and of course there is always room for improvement. Here are a couple of feedback questions, that can help me for the next season. And of course the question is whether you want a place reserved for #PFCL4 as this years participants have first rights on next year´s seats.
This is the very last matchup of our #PFCL3 season! We already have a winner in @BearTowell, but there is still a fierce fight for the remaining to podium places! 3 candidates with all possibilities to become either 2nd, 3rd or end up empty handed. These are the remaining races for #matchup50;
We are almost done for this season. #matchup49 is the penultimate round, but there are still some interesting races in the coming 3 weeks. The UCI calendar is still a mess, but going with the information on their site, these races are part of #matchup49;
Only 3 more fixtures for each team. This #matchup48 might prove very important in determining who will podium and perhaps also who will be in what spot, as the nr1 (@BearTowell) goes up against the nr3 (@ArjanZoer) and this might make @rapouw the laughing third? We'll just have to wait and see. The races;
So, we are nearing the end here, with only 4 matchups to go. This #matchup47 has the Worlds as the main featured races. But there are a couple more that also count for these fixtures;
With the Vuelta over we only have 5 more fixtures to play. Next up is #matchup46 with lots of interesting one day races and the stage race Tour of Denmark. This are the races for #matchup46;
Again a smaller race program in #matchup44;
This #matchup43 has already finished its races GP de Fourmies & Tour of Alberta, but both races only gave 3 riders a result. Now also Lotto Belgium Tour is underway and this weekend Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec will be added as a final result. So despite it having decent races in the matchup it seems that only a couple of points could win you your fixture. Special attention for the battle at the bottom of the league table as the @blakemarquesr vs @cyclingmole fixture might decide who will finish dead last this #PFCL season 3!
Next up is #matchup42 with lots of exciting racing as it has 5 one day races and 1 stage race. 3 races on WT level, so plenty of points availiable;
